Requiem for an Xbox
We had to stop kidding ourselves sometime and I guess today was as good as any. Yes, our big, black, boxy friend has finally kicked the bucket. It was almost as if the clicking of the hard drive was the countdown to it’s final demise. We both knew this day was coming, but we were just hoping it was a lot later than sooner.
Unfortunately we don’t have time for mourning… no, no. Games must be played… and good ones at that. Namely Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Doom 3. Both of which we plan to take on Xbox Live with a friend or two. So now we’re faced with the arduous task of buying another Xbox without spending to much cash. Something we’re not really looking forward to since the Xbox2/Next Box/Xbox 360 is going to be coming out in about 6 months.
But something must be done… so this Saturday we’re gonna truck on down to our (somewhat) local EB games and get a fresh new Xbox. Let’s just hope that afterwards we have enough money left for gas on the way home… (that’s a whole other story I’ll leave for later)
So goodbye old friend, we hardly played ye.
(and you crapped out on us anyways)

Even though i only lived a short time, i really came to love you guys. No…i really mean that….really. However i regret to tell you that while you guys were out of the house…your Dad played with me constantly and often slammed his gorilla fist down on me when i wouldnt let him win. This ….sadly is the reason for my premature death. Sorry…see you in the next life.
Love,
X-box
