NFL Kickoff Weekend and The Gut League
Well it’s the NFL’s kickoff weekend and I’m here at Creekside with my boy, girl, and 2nd mom (Pat, Kim, and Gwen) watching some Eagles-Packers with the occasional channel switch to the Patriots-Jets game. My stomach is full of ribs, macaroni & cheese, and a loads of other snack foods. In about another hour or so we’re expecting Chris, Julie, Teressa, and Bill to stop by and join the fun of watching some football in HD. It doesn’t get much better than this. Life is sweet when the air starts to get cooler and the NFL is back on TV.
This weekend also marked the start of fantasy football. For the past 15 years a group of friends and I have run a fantasy league known as the Gut League. It all started back in high school where we would draft an entire roster of players, both offense and defense. Each week we would watch the games and keep track of the stats our selves and add up all the point results by hand. Now that’s old school. These days we’re online and run our league through a website which does all the hard work for us. We had the draft on Saturday and I think I made out OK, even if I did get off to a slow start. I just needed to get into a groove and then my roster started to fill out nicely. So now as that’s left is to site back and see how my guys do. If you want to follow along with the league, you can check out our site here. I’m The Living Dead team. Zombies FTW!
